The Pauanui Waterways is a winning project at the Regional House of the Year Awards 2019. The house is packed with contemporary features and hidden details. The windows and doors are over standard height and include 2.7m high 7.2m wide stacker doors leading off either side of the kitchen. The heads and cills of the joinery are rebated into the ceiling and floor. This created the effect of hiding the frame and showing only glass to capture the wonderful views.
The windows in the pop top roof bring natural light to the soaring living space and are opened by electric winding gear. All the glass is Solace Low E with argon gas, ensuring the thermal efficiency is maximized. Keyless entry and windows opening at the touch of a button bring latest technology to the fore front.
The team at Tasman worked hard to ensure every detail including the colonial bar around the retreat matched perfectly and every window and door contributed to the sharp modern aesthetic.
